Junior High Band Fest Links {2016}
If you were unable to attend the Junior High Band Festival Thursday evening in Villa Grove, we have links to their performance. Five area schools participated in the festival, which was conducted by Dr. Corey Francis. Dr. Francis is the Assistant Director of Bands & Professor of Music at Eastern Illinois University. Over 135 area students participated in this festival. Our students did a wonderful job representing Arcola. They deserve a big pat ont he back. Please share! Nigh on Bald Mountain, When Kings Go Forth, Clamor, Clang, Clap & Clatter and Flying Tigers.
Junior High Band Festival - Villa Grove - 7 pm {2016}
A letter was sent home with students on the Oct. 29th regarding the Junior High Band Festival in Villa Grove.
Next Thursday, November 6th, is the Jr High Band Festival at Villa Grove. Students will leave the school at 10:30am to Tuscola for lunch. We are stopping at the Chinese restaurant. Please bring about $12 for lunch. Students may choose to bring their own lunch.
After lunch we will head to Villa Grove HS for an all day rehearsal. Students should bring extra reeds/sticks/valve oil, water, instrument, band folder, folding music stand (if you have one), and a change of clothes for the concert that evening. Please have students bring the clothes they wore for concerts last year (if they still fit!).
Villa Grove band boosters will serve pizza for dinner at $2 per slice. Students may bring money for pizza or pack their own dinner.
Concert is at 7pm. All parents are encouraged to attend. If you plan to drive your student home, please send a signed note to school before the festival (any day next week Monday-Wednesday). I will not have a sign out sheet at the festival. After the concert, I will be busy herding students to the bus and collecting all of our belongings so please have this note in advance.
Any questions please email me- cgore@arcolaschools.com
